Charles Adje finally stepping down?

I'm hearing suggestions this afternoon that former council Leader and current Lead Member for Resources, Charles Adje, is stepping down from his Labour cabinet post.

This follows a string of disasters - and what I would certainly call scandals - like the revelations last week, that he had private discussions with Firoka, when he was chair of the Ally Pally Board. His version of the events that led to a disastrous licence agreement (that cost local taxpayers at least £1.5 million) had no credibility.

If true, this is not before time. But in or out of office, there is definitely more to come on Cllr Adje's style of operating.

Yup. It's official. The Hampstead & Highgate Express reports (23 April 2009) that Cllr Adje will be stepping down from his "cabinet" post from the Council AGM in May.

He told the Ham & High that: "I have things I'm doing with my work and family so now is the time to concentrate on that." He said: "There was no internal pressure. No one will make me do what I don't want to do."
